24th Foundation Day of the Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura, was celebrated with great splendor in the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium of the University under the chairmanship of Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Vice Chancellor of the University. The Chief Guest of the Foundation Day celebration, Shri Shailaja Kant Mishra, Vice President, Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, Mathura, while congratulating everyone on the 24th Foundation Day of the University, said that it is a great privilege that this University is established in the city of Lord Krishna. He said that we need to promote our traditional medical systems through modern research, while nurturing our indigenous breeds of cows such as Sahiwal, Tharparkar, Gir, etc. He emphasized that every human being should progress in life with values, patience, and hard work, leading to the establishment of a healthy family and a healthy society. The special guest of the Foundation Day celebration, Shri Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Uttar Pradesh, congratulated the University on its 24th Foundation Day and appreciated everyone’s contributions. He called for awareness of the importance of cleanliness in life. He praised the establishment of the first Veterinary University in the state, established on October 25, 2001, and its work. He stated that the Veterinary University is providing high-quality veterinary specialists to the state and the country. In his presidential address, Dr. Abhijit Mitra welcomed and greeted the guests and presented an overview of the cleanliness drive undertaken during the Swachhta Abhiyan, which began on September 20, 2025, and continued until October 19, 2025. During the Swachhta Abhiyan, a poster competition was organized for students at the primary school situated in the campus, in which Dharmendra, Bhavana, and Sana received first, second, and third prizes. On this occasion, debates, quiz competitions, and poster competitions were organized for the university students. Vikas Pal, Kushan Seth, and Shikha Patel secured first place. On this occasion all the Deans, Directors, Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Uttar Pradesh; teachers, officers, employees, and students at the University were present.
