Virtual orientation programme for BVSc & AH First Professional students

College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura organized a virtual orientation programme on 2nd December 2020 for the 76 students’ batch of newly admitted students of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal husbandry.

Welcoming the fresher’s Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Ambika Sharma, Assistant Professor, Veterinary Biochemistry handed over the digital platform to Dr. Muneendra Kumar, Assistant Professor, Animal Nutrition and Deputy Registrar of the College for introducing the fresher’s with the curriculum of the course and an overview of the present regulations.

Capt. (Dr) Rajneesh Sirohi, ANO, UP 1 R&V Sqaud encouraged the new entrants with the scope and future prospects of NCC and its role in maintaining health and benefits throughout their life.

Meanwhile the students were invited to introduce themselves to the faculty one by one.

Dr. Dilip Swain, Assistant Professor, Veterinary Physiology and class teacher of the First Professional course introduced the students with the course the students will be studying this year and motivated them.

Dr. Ajay Pratap , Assistant Professor, Veterinary Microbiology briefed the students regarding the course outline introducing different departments and faculty involved therein during their second Professional course as the Class teacher of Second Professional course.

Dr. R.K.Yadav, Assistant Professor, Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology and Class teacher of Third Professional course detailed out the Third Professional course, departments and faculty involved and encouraged them towards veterinary education.

Dr. A.K. Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Preventive Medicine introduced the students with the Fourth professional course, departments and faculty involved in teaching as the class teacher of the Fourth Professional course.

As clinics is the mainstay of the veterinary profession, Professor R.P. Pandey, Director of Clinics introduced the clinics as well as the various departments involved to the fresher’s and inspired them with the facilities and advancement in veterinary hospital of DUVASU.

Internship programme was detailed out by Dr. Gulshan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Surgery & Radiology and In charge, Internship Programme so that they are well versed with the rotatory internship duties and learning.

Career and Placement is the ultimate motto of successful completion of degree. So, Dr. Pawanjit Singh, Assistant Professor and In charge, Training & Placement cell encouraged fresher’s with the vast prospects of veterinary science and various avenues.

Sports and extracurricular activities play a vital role in overall personality development of an individual. So, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, Animal Nutrition updated the students with the games, sports and gymnasium facilities available in the hostels and University.

DSW of the University, Professor Vikas Pathak, Professor and Head, LPT narrated the fresher’s with the rules and regulations of the hostels and college, Do’s and Don’ts of the campus.

Professor P.K.Shukla, Dean of the college blessed and motivated the students. He concluded the orientation programme with his ever encouraging and valuable insights.

The session ended with thanks and advise to the students to fill and submit the feedback proforma about the orientation programme from the coordinator Dr. Ambika Sharma.
