Industrial Tour: Visit to Banas Amul Faridabad Dairy Plant

Introduction
The College of Dairy Science, DUVASU, Mathura organized an industrial tour on November 8th, 2024, in which 33 students of B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) visited the Banas Amul Faridabad Dairy Plant, accompanied with Dr Vivek Koshta (Tour Leader), Dr. Dinker Singh (Tour Member) and Dr. Rashmi (Tour Member). This educational tour provided students with first insights into the various operations and functions within a modern dairy processing facility, focusing on the end-to-end process of dairy production and quality management.
The tour was graciously supported by Shri Sanjay K. Chandani, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Shri. B.C. Jain the Plant Head, and a warm hospitality and guidance were received from the plant’s personnel who provided invaluable insights into the dairy industry, encouraged the students in their academic and professional journeys and extended their best wishes for the students’ learning and future endeavours.
The students visited various sections viz., (1) Milk Reception, (2) Milk Processing, (3) Pouch Packing (4) Fermented Dairy Products (Curd and Lassi), (5) Paneer Production. The students were also shown an insightful documentary on the AMUL India story and journey of Banas Dairy. The documentary provided historical context, showcasing AMUL’s journey, its commitment to empowering farmers, and its impact on the dairy industry in India. This documentary session enriched the students’ understanding of the cooperative model and AMUL’s significant contributions to society.
